Sunshine

Sunshine

This movie is by far one of the greatest, heaviest films i have ever seen. Even the ending braught me to tears. And that ususaly never happens. But this film was an exception. Its a borderline masterpeice by Danny Boyle. Lets get to the plot.

Is pretty far into the future. And as we all know the sun will eventualy deplete its resources and like a candle, burn out. Now dont ask how but Earths scientists have found a way to boost the suns life for a while longer, as in a few more years or so. So they sent a supermassive bomb witch is supposed to create a star within a star by shooting the bomb into it. It also gets there by having a heat resistant sheild. Sounds pretty stupid right now right? To actualy understand the bomb and sheild thing, you have to watch the movie. Its hard to explain but trust me, it all sums up.

Well they send a ship with the bomb to sun the sun. The ship is called Icarus. Unfortunantly something goes wrong aboard Icarus. But no one knows since it is far away from Earth. Now the movie takes place 7 years later Aboard Icarus 2. Following the crew of 8 scientists and astronauts. Eventualy they start getting closer to the sun. While on there route the Communications guy picks up a signal. They relize its from the first Icarus from 7 years ago. the scary thing? The Signal has to be manualy operated at the time it is being sent.

So the crew talk it over and discuss the outcomes of a detour. 2 giant bombs 2 chances. But if something goes wrong? The fate of Earth is lost. But they end up going to check out the first Icarus. What they find on the ship, is pure dust, dust everywhere. Literally. The smart docter says that 75% of dust is human skin. And thats where it got creepy. Now there are also rooms witch are like sunglass windows, that you can observe the sun with. Another thing you have to watch the movie to understand. When they go into Icarus' "Sun room" they find something terrible. All sitting hugging eatchother sitting on the stool to observe the sun, where the bones of the first crew. One of the Icarus 2 crew members see's that the sunglass effect on the window was turned off. They intentionally burned themselfs. Why? Who sent the signal then?

Alot more story is also involved but i dont want to give it away. The ending of this film is the most amazing thing ive ever seen. For most people they would find it hard to understand its true meaning. If you ever watch it, ask me about it. i give this movie 10/10.
